My husband and I live in Durham along with our new puppy, Annie. We have a grown son, Thomas, who lives in Rochester, NY. I enjoy reading, quilting, being outdoors, sports and gourmet cooking.
This is my 27th year in education! I first started teaching in 1982 after graduating from University of Maine at Farmington. After 6 years teaching students with Special Needs, I took a 10 year hiatus from education. In 1998, I returned to teaching as a Reading Recovery Teacher at Poland Community School. PCS is a fabulous place to be and I have been here ever since! While here, I have taught Reading Recovery both half and full day, Half Day Kindergarten, Full Day Kindergarten and First Grade.
To continue my education, I started a Professional Educator master's program, with a literacy concentration, in January, 2011 at University of Southern Maine. I completed it in the spring of 2014.
